Training Leaders to change Nicaragua's Future
Global education has in mind a student with a real, active participation in his or her own process of learning.
That is why Chavalos Nica has a student centered approach to preparing children for life.
Students must be aware of the importance of all the subjects, and learn how to like them. Our curriculum is comprised of social sciences, natural sciences, world geography, and world history, as well as math and languages. We begin this curriculum at an early age so children can start discovering an amazing world that they must love and care for.

Granada Preparatory provides the latest teaching techniques still not available in most of the schools in Granada. The school has a science laboratory, a library for kids with both Spanish and English literature, and handout documents especially prepared to appeal to student's interests.
Computers are not only for adults, but also children are able to learn through them. They are going to work in a fun environment getting familiarized with this important tool.
Critical Thinking will be developed by giving children more project work in the different classes because the new methodology makes possible a real connection with our surroundings and the theory taught in classes.
Teachers teach all general subjects in English. Languages are taught in the specific language.
Without any doubt, we can say that our school is the first truly bilingual in Granada, Children will finish elementary school speaking at least three languages.
Small class size permits reconfiguration of classrooms to most effectively
use
the space for given subjects and increases student interest and participation.
Another element the new methodology incorporates is parental support to their children. Parents must know what the kids are being taught. Granada Preparatory parents are asked to make one visit per month to sit in class with their children.

As a modern school, we also accept the responsibility to train a new generation of teachers who really love kids and their profession. Our teachers are constantly updated with best of the pedagogical and methodological resources. Teachers and teacher's aids will be trained to not just be present in a child's learning experience, but to be an integral part of it
Our assessment is based on the skills and competences developed in class day by day and if these skills and competences aren't achieved, the child is not forced, but motivated to achieve. Children are graded more on their commitment to learn than on correct answers on a paper, because we believe building self-confidence aids development and learning.
