Bordered by two oceans, Nicaragua's center holds Lake Cocibolca, the 7th largest lake in the world, and home to the only fresh water shark in the world.
The city of Granada, the home of Chavalos Nica, and our school, sits on the Northern shore of Lake Cocibolca.
Travel in Nicaragua is available by bus, boat, and plane to nearly all parts of the country, but patience is a key word. The country is worth traveling and the people are worth meeting.

Hiking, backpacking, and surfing are available and the volcanos offer spectacular vistas as well as interesting activities. Tourism is a growing industry in Nicaragua, and Nicaragua offers opportunities for every type of tourist.
