Accelerated English and Math Classes

To prepare incoming students to learn in an all English environment, Granada Preparatory will begin accelerated English and Math classes with the beginning of the typical Nicaraguan school year in February, 2012.

Words from the director

Being part of the Granada Preparatory School project, which is laying the first stones to building the best school in Granada for children and young people to be more competitive and confident in their life, is the best thing that ever happened to me in my professional career.

Working at Chavalos Nica Foundation for the past year has been a school for me. While I have taught children age five to adolescent in different areas including math, English, history, geography, and Russian, I may have learned and gotten more from my students than I have been able to give them. Now I am honored to be the first director of Granada Preparatory.

All the opportunities and support given to me by Chavalos Nica is making my job easier and really making me committed to this fascinating project.

Ahead is a lot of management work, but I am devoted to helping each child grow towards independence by building confidence, competence, self-esteem and respect for others.

Our school will treat kids as self-directed students while creating a joyful diverse and family oriented community. Many challenges are to come and I have to oversee everything that happens at the school. I will be responsible for a global international curriculum that is going to include a third language, natural science, social sciences starting in pre-school, introducing new education initiatives, student discipline, scheduling, teachers and parents relationships, and staff education. I will also be responsible to our school board and the Board of Education in making sure the education process from the students to the teachers is efficient, effective and safe.

Fortunately, I will have the help of this non-profit foundation, my teachers, all parents and mainly and more valuable to me, the love and respect of our children.

I am working on the excellent, updated material especially prepared for kids to start our full English and Math acceleration program which is going to be open in February. I am also involved in the details of the new building design which is going to be innovative and friendly. We have set a lot of goals for this new brand of school, but I think that creating a positive and rewarding atmosphere will be the most important.

Teachers will have a constant in-service and pre-service training to familiarize them with the new methodology where parents will be involved from the very beginning. Thanks to all parents who believe that this is the school where their sons and daughters will get the best pre-school and elementary education. Let's give a chance to your treasured little ones to enjoy their childhoods and learn at the same time.
