Chavalos Nica

Training Leaders to change Nicaragua's Future

Long Term Mentoring

Many children in the Chavalos Nica program come from single parent homes and need mentoring from adults outside their immediate family circle.

This program lends itself to people who are physically present in the Granada area as well as those willing to communicate on a long term basis by email. To put this program in light of how the kids benefit, here is a quote: "My mentor is there for me. When I have problems in my life or questions, I can write to him and he always offers me advise and encouragement. He is a good friend to me."

If you are interested in becoming a good friend to a young person and being a positive influence on his or her life, volunteering to be a long term mentor is just right for you.

While it is great to at some point meet your chavalo in person, it is not necessary to begin mentoring.
